Stone Castle Cake
1. Trim the white ends from the Designer Prints™ decorations using a ribbon insertion tool with the pointed blade (Item #43381) or an X-ACTO type razor knife. Return them to the re-sealable bag until ready to use. 2. The tube towers are not cake but part of a castle kit available from Wilton, or you can improvise these pieces from other food safe material. They can also be made from cardboard tubing covered with foil or from PVC water pipe. 3. A day ahead of cake assembly, roll out gumpaste and slightly moisten it. While it is flat, apply strips of Stone Designer Prints™ sheets (Item #45065). 4. Measure and cut pieces to wrap around each tower. Seal with buttercream. Allow to dry over night for easy handling. 5. Mix some white fondant with Lucks Black Airbrush Color (Item #10157) to make a gray fondant. Cut fondant pieces for door and windows and set aside. 6. Mix some white buttercream with Lucks Black Airbrush Color also to make a gray buttercream. 7. Ice cake with white buttercream and assemble. 8. Apply Stone Designer Prints™ sheets on all three tiers as shown. 9. Add gray fondant accents and pipe gray buttercream to seal around edges. 10. Cover with Chocolate Rocks (Item #42150) at the bottom edge border. 11.Mix icings using Lucks Green Airbrush Color (Item #10162) and Lucks Brown Airbrush Color (Item #10159) to make light and dark green. 12. Use #3 plain round tube (Item #12751) to pipe green vines and #352 deep cut tube (Item #16365) for leaves variegated with two shades of green. 13. Finish with Leafed Flower Charms Dec-Ons® Decorations (Item #14362) and Small Flowers Assortment Dec-Ons® Decorations (Item #43722). Decorating idea by Kasia Wilk |
